Four months ago Nike announced its 18th annual collection with the OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital. Totaling six disparate silhouettes, the past few days have bore witness to official images of the traditional slate of releases, including this luminous blue Nike Air Foamposite.
An aspiring veterinarian, the Penny Hardaway-endorsed silhouette comes designed by Klamath County native Coley Miller, who remains a patient of the Oregon Health and Sciences University after receiving a kidney transplant from her mother.
Looking to the roots of her Klamath heritage, a decorative array of basket-weaved inspired quarter overlays and quail plum graphics coat the upper while the basketball-littered insoles bear the brand’s Just Do It slogan in her native Klamath language reading “ho mas gi.” Casting a starry night blue across its beetle shell-inspired upper, everything from the laces, pull tabs and sock liner further indulge in the crisp royal treatment. Illuminated by bright yellows touching down across the tongue construction, Coley’s handwriting additionally appears along the semi-translucent tread underfoot while yellow and blue 1-Cent logos curtail the titular proposition.
While we await the collection’s expected release in March, enjoy official images of the Nike Air Foamposite One Doernbecher “Coley Miller” below.
