Originating in New York City in the 1970s, the genre known as hip-hop has influenced music, style, fashion, and the business for half a century. It spans a variety of talents beyond a lyrical game, with distinct sounds coming from all regions of the world. Simply put, hip-hop is more than just sounds, it’s a voice for an entire culture that evolves faster than any other genre.
In 2023, Nike honors 50 Years Of Hip-Hop with the “Classics” Pack. Already revealed in the Blazer Mid ’77, Air Force 1 High, and Air Force 1 Low, we’re now graced with official images of the Dunk High, seen here with the same yellowed midsole, spray-painted effect on the Swoosh, and custom tongue label. The Dunk High features some edge via the tumbled leather on both the black overlay and grey underlay, while the golden microphone hangs off the chain.
The Nike “Classics” Collection is set to arrive soon; see the official images ahead and stay tuned for official release details.
