Michael Le The Sunset Dongdan is a cherished, annual tradition, taking place on what many consider to be the “Holy Land” of Chinese streetball. And much like prior years, Jordan Brand is preparing a number of sneakers in the tournament’s honor for 2023, including not just the Air Jordan 37 Low from this morning but also this newly-revealed Air Jordan 5 Low.
Unlike its above-mentioned counterpart — as well as the offerings from prior years — the Air Jordan 5 Low “Dongdan” is far less indulgent in its design. Bolder, more colorful details are relegated to the sole, accents, and sockliner, proffering pinks, violets, and a sky-inspired mural, respectively. Much of the rest of shoe is clad in neutrals: the upper, for instance, is done up almost entirely in black, with white stitching and achromatic, opaque netting, and silver metallic tongues situated atop as well as adjacent.
