Before the iconic cornrows, crossing up Mike and securing a regular season MVP award, the legend of Allen Iverson first began on both the football field and hardwood in Hampton, Virginia for Bethel High School. While Bubba Chuck’s two years at Georgetown remain top of mind, BSTN is taking it back to the early 90s with a Reebok Question inspired by Iverson’s high school days.
Readying the synonymous palette of the Hampton City School, Iverson’s time as a two-sport athlete is mimicked by the chosen fabric of the heel tabs, engaging in a bright yellow jersey mesh on the left foot while the right mirrors the green nylon of his football jersey accompanied by both his high school numbers of #10 and #3. Allowing a blank canvas for the latter two hues to shine atop, the model indulges in a dominant crisp white, tumbled leather upper with the tongue assuming its typical mesh construction. Reflecting the placement of the suede green toe cap on its “Michigan State” counterpart, both the streetwear label and Reebok’s logos receive a titular yellow trim and branded hang tag – save the BSTN lettering along the greyscale lace loops – before an icy blue sole unit provides a staple finish underfoot.
As we await the pair’s expected release date, in the meantime enjoy official images of the BSTN x Reebok Question “Bethel High” below.
