Considering their cost, adidas Y-3 sneakers are not the best fit for the outdoors. And while it may boast an equally expensive price tag, the sub-label’s latest release — the Y-3 Terrex Swift R3 GTX Hi — makes a strong case for the contrary, donning not only a GORE-TEX membrane but also a construction akin to a puffer jacket.

Landing first via the Three Stripes’ Japanese channels, the adidas Y-3 Terrex Swift R3 GTX Hi debuts in an understated, “Off-White” colorway. This affords greater visibility to the sneaker’s “fluffy,” down coat reminiscent design, which combines neoprene, textile, and rubber into one waterproof package. Below, the model makes use of the very same sole unit as its mainline counterpart complete with the Continental Rubber outsole.
