Jared Ebanks Fictional yet globally celebrated, 4/20 provides a unique opportunity for the industry’s sneaker banners to dip their toe cap into the world of recreational and medicinal drug use. Celebrating the upcoming cannabis-oriented holiday a month from today, Reebok is rolling up the day’s recreational activities within a thematic, three-silhouette collection.
Anchoring all three propositions in an earth-based palette, both the Twilight Zone Pump and Classic Leather indulge in a myriad of paisley prints and disparate textiles in homage to a diverse amount of guilty pleasures while suedes, nubucks, washed denim and corduroys are cobbled together to further hit home the patchwork association. Simultaneously harkening to the upcoming annual celebration, the latter two ensembles bear tear-away tongue tabs resembling the appearance of dutch papers while a grassy green textile grows from underneath. Attaching marijuana leaf motifs to the tongue’s Pump system, a psychedelic, wavy effect takes hold of each model’s warped Reebok branding while the jet-black knit composition of the Beatnik makes for a perfect pair to run an errand or two in preparation for April 20th.
