The PUMA Clyde celebrates its 50th anniversary this year, but that hasn’t stopped the PUMA Suede on which Walt Frazier’s silhouette is based to take on special ensembles.
To welcome spring, the classic from 1968 has emerged in a tonal “American Beauty” color scheme courtesy of Rhuigi Villaseñor. Inspired by the breakdancing era of the 1980s, the sneaker features flat, fat laces. High-quality suede lands across the upper, boasting the aforementioned pinkish hue. PUMA branding on the lateral side opts for a shimmering golden finish, while standard stripes favor a cream hue; the “Pristine” color also lands on the heel and sole unit. Traditional branding on the spines is replaced with “19” and “91,” although neither party involved has shared a backstory.
Enjoy product photography of the pair ahead. The pair is expected to hit PUMA.com and select shops worldwide on March 25 for $120 USD.
