Jovani Hernandez The Nike Cortez officially turned 50 in 2022, but the silhouette continues to emerge in new styles three months into the new year.
Recently, the old school running sneaker appeared in a “Midnight Navy,” “Sail,” and “Noise Aqua” color scheme. Smooth leather across the upper takes on a two-tone arrangement that sees a clean off white land on the profile swooshes. Achilles’ Heel panels also opt for a clean look, although their Nike branding features a light blue flair. Laces, nylon tongues, and sole units prefer a “Sail” look, nodding to the original Cortez from 1972. All together, the aforementioned components help expand the silhouette’s legacy into the next half century.
