Stephen Curry Signs Long-Term Extension With Under Armour

Four-time NBA Champion Stephen Curry has signed a long-term extension with Under Armour.

The Golden State Warriors star first partnered with the Baltimore-based sportswear company in 2013. The initial deal was set to run until 2024, but Under Armour’s founder, Kevin Plank, and Curry have decided to get ahead of things.

“There’s always been a continuation [in mind] with Stephen,” said Plank in a story by ESPN. “I couldn’t imagine Under Armour without Stephen, or Stephen without Under Armour.”

Currently enjoying his 10th signature sneaker, Curry launched the eponymous Curry Brand with the help of Plank and company in 2020. The goal has been to build a foundation for current and future athletes at all levels, as well as leave a legacy that lasts well past Curry’s final game in the NBA. One such brand ambassador is Azzi Fudd of the UConn women’s basketball team.

“I do have a lot left to accomplish on the court, however long I am playing. Hopefully, it’s no time soon that I’m thinking about calling it quits,” said Curry, who turned 35 on March 14.

The exact numbers of Steph Curry’s long-term extension with Under Armour haven’t been disclosed, but the deal is comprehensive; once annual base pay, stock equity, royalties, and on-court incentive bonuses are combined, Curry’s earnings from the new agreement could total more than his NBA contacts ($473 million through the 2025-26 season). Furthermore, the extension has the potential to turn into a lifetime deal thanks to its performance-based clauses.

“I’m just proud that we’ve gotten to this point,” said Curry. “Now, the real work begins.”
