Depending on the person, this yellow and black Nike Cortez could conjure to mind images of either the Wu-Tang Clan or Bruce Lee’s legendary tracksuit. But given the silhouette’s connection to Onitsuka Tiger — who provided the footwear for Uma Thurman’s Bruce Lee-inspired costume in Kill Bill — this colorway definitely leans closer to the latter end of the spectrum.
Short of blood splatters, this Nike Cortez is aesthetically reminiscent of the Mexico 66 that appeared in the above-mentioned film. Yellow is used through much of the upper, appearing light along its leathers and slightly darker across the suede toe, eye stays, and heel counter. Black, then, paints the Swoosh and heel tab, while also detailing the mid-section of the white-dominant sole unit just below.
Enjoy a closer look at this Nike Cortez via the retailer imagery ahead. If you’d like to add a pair of these to your collection, you’ll have to sit tight as a firm release date has not yet been revealed.
In case you missed it, Austin Reaves is getting his own signature shoe: the Rigorer AR1.
