Jovani Hernandez The adidas Response CL is a relic from the German brand’s performance past, but the last three years have seen it enter the spotlight.
Ahead of summer, the outdoors-inspired design has emerged in a new mix of tan, mauve, and orange colors. The bulk of the upper – which consists of mesh, suede, and leather panels – takes on the two darkest tones of the bunch, with the purplish hue mostly landing on underlays. Profile 3-Stripes branding favors citrus flair that’s also visible via the Torsion System underfoot. EVA foam midsoles keep things clean in shades of white, while Formotion components at the heel opt for a deep, almost red, purple. Lastly, the majority of the outsole features a black finish that rounds out the retro running sneaker – which has gotten love because of the unshakeable “dad shoe” trend.
