The four colorways of the big bubbled Nike Air Max 1 ’86, which previously released at Dover Street Market, is rumored to be shock dropping on SNKRS today between 2PM and 2:30PM ET
This year, Nike celebrated Air Max Day with the very sneaker that started it all: the Air Max 1. Alongside ushering back its OG colorway, the Swoosh refitted the silhouette with the big bubble that it originally wore back in 1986. And while the make-believe holiday may be long past its end, the brand is not yet ready to say goodbye to the oversized Air unit, carrying on its legacy by way of not just one but four additional colorways.
Brought to life with a bit of creative help from Kids of Immigrants — who have crafted a community-driven campaign centered around supporting those close to you — the upcoming capsule sees the Nike Air Max 1 ’86 clad in four different colorways, many of which have already been revealed via official images. Limited to 1,986 pairs in homage to the origins of the Tinker Hatfield-designed icon, the collection features the “Light Armory Blue,” the “Light Silver,” the “Smokey Mauve,” and the newly-revealed “Dark Team Red.” And though distinct in their respective choice of palette, shying away from the look of the OG, all four options include both the iconic “Big Bubble” as well as the aged packaging used for their Air Max Day-released counterpart.
Enjoy a detailed look at all four upcoming colorways of the Nike Air Max 1 ’86 ahead. Each pair will be made available on April 22nd exclusively at Dover Street Market in LA and London, with a special installation to be held at the retailer the prior day.
