Sneaker News After Nike unleashed the “Big Bubble” Air Max 1s earlier in March, it looks as if the ’87 silhouette will be front and center for Nike Sportswear’s Air Max initiatives moving forward. There are a variety of styles for men, women, and kids, but few are as magnetic is this “Volt Suede” version that’s set to drop in Summer/Fall 2023.
This first look reveals a rather straightforward and standard construction for the Air Max 1 as the suede mudguard and quarter panels sit above a white mesh base layer. The contrast of the bright volt and the light orewood brown achieve a bit of that “tennis ball” look that was popularized over a decade ago by Nike Basketball’s Hypermax release. No relation to one another, of course.
A first release date is not known, but it does appear that the shoes pictured are a GS release, so it’s unclear of adult sizes are on the way. We’ll keep you updated as we learn more, so check out this first look for now.
