Once an obscure cult classic, the Nike Zoom Vomero 5 has stormed out of the Beaverton brand’s archives to a raucous return outfitted by an onslaught of contemporary colorways. While tonal uppers have enjoyed a reserved appearance throughout the past few months, the now household model is undergoing a throwback color blocking infused with hits of “Team Red”.
Enveloping its staple mesh base layer in a bright red tincture, the mudguard and mid-foot’s surrounding overlays come dipped in a shimmering silver metallic treatment that brightens the upper in tandem with its greyscale heel counter. Elsewhere, the forefoot’s nubuck panels and the linear caging system come cured in a deep dark burgundy offsetting the vibrancy set off throughout the silhouette. Underfoot, the chosen red-centric palette explodes along the runner’s 2011 sole unit construction in closing.
