University Blues Add The Nike Air Max 97 To The “Athletic Dept.” Collection

University Blues Add The Nike Air Max 97 To The “Athletic Dept.” Collection

The Swooshes’ latest inline collection has reimagined the sportswear behemoth as just a burgeoning Athletic Department. Following the Christian Tresser designs recent assimilation with the Futura lineup, the Nike Air Max 97 now joins the colorful array of general releases.

Taking after the color blocking employed on its Dunk Low counterpart, the summer-ready ensemble ditches the use of any greyscale markings and dives straight into a sea of neutrals. Casting a supple Off-White tint along its mesh base layer, the silhouettes surrounding thin leather overlays assume a tonal cream upper and midsole. Save one singular strip, the tongue tab, mid-foot Swoosh and presiding pull tabs all come injected with a lively “University Blue” contrast that illuminates the upper in tandem with the pair’s tread underfoot for a calm two-toned effort.

As we await further release details, in the meantime enjoy official imagery of the Nike Air Max 97 “Athletic Dept.” below.
