From the recent return of Penny Hardaway’s illustrious PE to an expanded slate of color blockings plucked from the past, the Nike Air Foamposite One has enjoyed turning the clock back throughout 2023. Alongside the iconic “Galaxy” colorway’s restoration in 2024, the beetle shell-inspired silhouette is set to additionally embark upon its iridescent “Eggplant” scheme from 2009.
Cycling back for its third appearance after celebrating the Hardaway-endorsed model’s 20th anniversary in 2017, the synonymous pitch-dark aesthetic sets up shop without any tweaks or adjustments. Jet-black shades concentrate above along the nubuck and mesh tooling which outfits the tongue, lining and quarter overlay. Elsewhere “Varsity Purple” shades begin to encompass the pull tabs, accents of the tongue and embroidered Swooshes. Underfoot the tread is treated to an icy blue arrangement while the upper’s violet shell dawns the staple pearly finish.
