From collaborative styles to OG colorways, the Nike Air Max Penny 1 has seen quite a bit of love since its return. And though school’s expected to be out in a month’s time, the silhouette is about to take us all the way to the halls of Lester Middle School, commemorating Penny Hardaway’s time with the Lester Lions by way of a colorway more than appropriate.
Hardaway not only attended Lester in his youth but also coached the team in the 2010s. To celebrate both his history with the institution as well his achievements as their coach, Nike has dressed the Air Max Penny 1 in a colorway heavily inspired by the Lions signature uniforms. Here, the base of the shoe is predominantly clad in black and white: the latter dresses the outsole as well as the mudguard, while the former dyes the mesh tongue and the nubuck upper. Hits of yellow, then, round out the homage, highlighting the jewel Swoosh and the accompanying branding.
Enjoy a closer look at the Nike Air Max Penny 1 “Lester Middle School” ahead. While a firm release date has not yet been revealed, these are expected to land sometime this Fall.
In other news, official images of the Yeezy Boost 350 v2 Carbon Beluga surfaced late yesterday evening.
