The Nike Mac Attack is finally returning to the shelves later this year, doing so in both collaborative and inline styles alike. And alongside remixes by the likes of Travis Scott and Social Status, the silhouette’s definitive colorway — the original “Light Silver/Black — will also be receiving a standalone release in true-to-OG spec.
Originally debuted in 1984, the Nike Mac Attack “Light Silver/Black” was a stark contrast to the all-white tennis sneakers prevalent at the time. Worn by the legendary John McEnroe, the sneaker mainly boasted a light grey through its upper, said neutral applied to both the leather overlays and mesh side-panel. The Swoosh, in contrast, opted for a black finish, matching that of the heel clip, collar, and the mesh inserts along the toe box. All of these details as well as the shoe’s signature checkboard-patterned tongue label return for its 2023 Retro, which should be releasing later this year.
