Though among one of the most iconic sneakers of all-time, the Stan Smith is not at all exempt from experimentation. And though previously reluctant to reinvent the classic’s entire spec, adidas is now completely letting go of the brakes.
Enter the adiFom Stan Smith Mule, a brand new style that honors the legacy of the eponymous silhouette. But while similar in name, the design couldn’t be any further from the original blueprint, stretching it well past recognizability. Constructed with natural, renewable materials, the clog-like reimagining boasts chunky proportions as well as a platform sole far taller than what’s typically found on the tennis staple. And while light on the latter’s DNA, the pair does pay more direct homage to it with its clean upper and heel cap.
Introduced in six different colorways, the adiFom Stan Smith Mule is available right now at select retailers. For more details as well as a closer look at the shoe, see ahead.
