Update: The Nike Runtekk has been renamed to the V2K Run.
—
The Nike Runtekk is a newer offering from the brand, but it’s based on old designs.
Recently, the Zoom Vomero 5-reminiscent silhouette emerged in an all-“Black” color scheme, delivering a versatile pair for women. The mix of mesh and synthetic overlays that covers the upper draws comparisons to some of the Swoosh’s most iconic running models from decades past. And while any enthusiast of the unshakeable “dad shoe” trend is sure to enjoy the Runtekk’s upper, fans of the technical look may be put off by the sneaker’s exaggerated sole unit. Robust and angled, the Cushlon employed on the women’s-exclusive shoe resembles some recent footwear offerings from high-end fashion houses. Despite the “Runtekk” name, waffle-patterned outsole, and breathable upper, it’s unlikely the retro-inspired design is good for running. Nevertheless, bold fashion-enthusiasts are sure to take a liking to the chunky Nike shoe.
Enjoy official photos of the pair ahead, and anticipate a nike.com launch soon for $110 USD.
