Jared Ebanks Accompanied by Tuned Air tooling, the third iteration from the Nike Air Max Plus series has gone from an obscure cult classic to a routine contributor to the Beaverton brand’s lifestyle roster. After a shortened hiatus to start the summer, the 2019 revitalization now pairs a greyscale upper with a classic gum tread.
Much like its spring-time contemporaries, the Air Max Plus 3 engages in a gradient-infused mesh upper with its crisp white forefoot transitioning to a jet-black heel. Pitch-dark color matches are rendered throughout the tongue construction, oval laces and the Tuned sole unit underfoot while a seldom number of grey hits accent the ridged heel counter. While the monochrome ensemble above dominates a majority of the pair’s real estate, the tread underfoot cleans up in a nostalgic “Gum” treatment synonymous with the banner’s expansive archives.
