Sneaker News A crossover of epic proportions? Nike is combining two icons of their tennis category with this Zoom Vapor 11 inspired by the mythical Mac Attack. The Vapor 11, the latest model in the athlete-validated series by NikeCourt, gets a complete transformation via the modified upper which is clearly an homage to the recently re-issued Mac Attack silhouette.
Specifically designed for hard court surfaces, the Zoom Vapor 11 receives a celebratory alteration with a distinct overlays mimicking the design of the Jon McEnroe classic. The Light Smoke Grey/Black colorway achieves the identity with the help of the checkerboard tongue label and the leather heel-tab, but with the Zoom sole, this model stays up to par with current performance demands.
This isn’t the first time NikeCourt attempted to bridge lifestyle and performance; back in 2013, in collaboration with then-Nike athlete Roger Federer, the Swoosh debuted the Zoom Vapor Tour AJ3. This Vapor 11 “Mac Attack” blend is obviously more fluid as the muse for the design is also in the tennis sport category.
A release date is currently unconfirmed, but should be arriving soon to Nike.com.
