And while New Balance themselves are certainly no strangers to the concept, the 991 is. That’ll be changing very soon, however, as the classic will be experimenting with the pre-worn aesthetic for the very first time.
Much like that of the Air Jordan 1 “Lost & Found,” the design of this New Balance 991 builds upon one of the silhouette’s most ubiquitous styles. But though heavily informed by its iconic grey look — featuring the same exact hues and a near identical construction — the pair is undoubtedly distinct in its design, as it bears almost no resemblance to a brand new pair. This is thanks wholly to the distressed suedes, which boast stains, dirt, and scuffs all throughout the upper.
