Nike Basketball continues to dominate NBA hardwood floors with innovative silhouettes, but its classic designs keep appearing on sidewalks everywhere.
Throughout the 1990s, the Swoosh’s hoops-obsessed cohort released dozens of now-iconic basketball shoes for elite athletes and the general public alike. One such design was the Nike Air Penny 2, which launched in 1996 as Anfernee Deon “Penny” Hardaway’s second signature sneaker. Off white and shades of brown come together on the latest take on the Air Max-assisted sneaker, expanding its off-court legacy. The ridge-laden, extended midsole indulges in the darkest tone of the bunch, with leather and suede panels underneath opting for cream colors. The outsole also favors an off white finish, but the radial traction zones introduce a bold red into the mix.
Enjoy retailer photography of the pair ahead, and anticipate a nike.com launch soon.
