Angelo Baque helped introduce the ASICS GEL-NYC to the world in January. Since then, the hybrid silhouette has taken on a plethora of color schemes, which now includes a fall-appropriate combination of “Dark Sepia” and “Clay Canyon.”
Expected to hit ASICS retailers soon, the pair couples a mesh base layer with a series of leather panels across the upper, abandoning the suede that’s emerged on most styles thus far. Underlays favor the darker of the two aforementioned tones, while leather swaths around the forefoot, along the profiles, and across the heel revel in a lighter, but equally-autumnal hue. Some panels throughout the GEL-NYC’s upper enjoy a glossy finish, complementing the ASICS GEL cushioning underfoot well. Nearby stability, traction, and additional cushioning components also indulge in a pitch-black makeup, creating an understated look that’s sure to catch the attention of “gorpcore” enthusiasts.
Enjoy official photos of the pair ahead, and anticipate a stateside asics.com launch in the coming weeks. The pair is currently listed as launching on September 15th on the brand’s Japan webstore.
