Ewing Athletics Explores New York Baseball History With The 33 Hi “Bronx”

feature image

What if Patrick Ewing played baseball instead of basketball?

Ewing Athletics recently unveiled a 33 Hi exploring the alternate universe in which the New York Knick was a New York Yankee. Inspired by Ewing’s appearance in the 1993 MLB All-Star Celebrity Home Run Challenge, the Ewing Athletics team covered its marquee high-top silhouette with pinstripes and other baseball-informed details. No overt nods to the “Bronx Bombers” appear on the 33 Hi, but the Yankees’ iconic navy cover a number of components on the old school basketball sneaker. Campaign photography was also shot in front of Yankee Stadium, further cementing the project’s Bronx connection. Basketball graphics on the tongue are replaced with baseballs, changing yet another part of the 33-year-old design.

Enjoy a closer look at the shoe ahead, and find the special pair at ewingathletics.com right now. The 33 Hi “Bronx” is priced at $150 USD.
