Michael Jordan’s second signature silhouette has broadcasted a fanciful amount of colorways and OG ensembles since the model’s revitalization at the end of 2021. As the Jumpman banner brings a close to the vast amount of releases, the Air Jordan 2 is landing in the 1988 synonymous “Black Cement” treatment this week before heading back to the archives.
Continuing the brand’s recent obsession with transitioning classic colorways away from their original retros onto different models, the Air Jordan 3’s “Black Cement” makeup is applied in full. Jet-black hues build out a majority of the upper’s tumbled leather and iguana print overlays as additional pitch-dark color matches overtake the laces, eyestays and heel clip. “Cement Grey” contrasts enter the mix along the trim of the latter panels and further overtake the tongue, inner lining and heel counter. However, the reapplication wouldn’t be complete without “Fire Red” branding, which makes an appearance at both the tongue tab and spine of the heel.
The Air Jordan 2 “Black Cement” is scheduled to release on September 23rd in adult ($175) and youth sizing ranging from $65 to $85. In the meantime, enjoy one last look at the pair below alongside our accompanying store list.
In other news from the Beaverton brand, the LeBron 21 “Akoya” has surfaced in official imagery.
