Teased in parts over the last two weeks, the Nike “Familia” capsule prepped for Hispanic Heritage Month has just been unveiled.
Comprised of the Air Max 1 and Pegasus 40, the latest “Familia” collection pays homage to young Latinas shaping local and global cultures. Each sneaker is covered in a series of vibrant colors informed by the dynamic energy of carnival celebrations that take place across the Hispanic diaspora. Uppers are constructed with a number of different layers as a nod to the different dimensions of identity found amongst Latin Americans. Embroidery throughout the ensembles give both the original Nike Air Max and 40th Pegasus running shoe unique looks, further expanding their respective catalogs. Both pairs don off white midsoles that play into the unshakeable “Neo-vintage” trend that injects a classic touch into the collection.
Enjoy campaign photography of the duo ahead, and find the shoes available via nike.com on September 27th. The Air Max 1 is priced at $140 USD, whereas the Pegasus 40 retails for $130 USD.
