Nike Is Charging A $50 Premium For This Upgraded Air Monarch IV

Nike Is Charging A $50 Premium For This Upgraded Air Monarch IV

If you were to think of dad shoes, it’s very likely the Air Monarch IV would be one of the first sneakers to come to mind. And while we’re not surprised that Nike is updating the icon, it is a bit shocking to see it retail for $50 dollars more than the original.

In the case of the brand’s training shoes — especially the Metcon series — updates are a regular occurence. Stamped with the “AMP” moniker, these reworked models could feature any number of improvements, from reinforced fabric to additional cushioning. Given its much higher price tag, it’s likely the Air Monarch IV AMP is a near comprehensive upgrade, despite not appearing as such at a glance.

If you’d like to see what’s different for yourself, the Nike Air Monarch IV AMP is available now on Nike.com for a retail of $130 USD.

In other news, early images of the Air Jordan 3 Craft Ivory recently surfaced.
