The Nike Air Trainer 1 Appears In An Almost Royals Colorway

It’s hard not to associate any white-and-blue colorway of a Nike Trainer with super-athlete Bo Jackson. Remembered for his time with the Kansas City Royals on the diamond and the LA Raiders on the gridiron, Bo was also a powerful pitchman for Nike’s efforts in the cross-training category during its boom at the turn of the 80’s.

While the Air Trainer 1 is more immediately associated with tennis legend Jon McEnroe, Bo was also featured in the Tinker Hatfield designed model. That’s why this upcoming Air Trainer 1 release (dropping this Holiday for $130) conjures up memories of Bo’s slugging and defense for Kansas City, even though the shade of blue isn’t quite Royal, in more than one way.

Regardless, this is a clean and crisp colorway of an iconic Nike sneaker, so check out gallery below and stay tuned for release updates.

In other Trainer news, check out the Air Trainer 1 “Super Bowl” pairs that are set to drop near the big game in February.
