Detailed Look: Nike Book 1 “Ashen Slate”

Update 12/14/2023: The Nike Book 1 “Ashen Slate” has surfaced in detailed imagery featuring “Football Grey” and “Summit White” accents. The upcoming colorway is expected to retail for $150 USD.

The 2023-24 NBA officially begins Tuesday evening as Devin Booker and the Phoenix Suns headline the opening night festivities. Joining Nike’s esteemed catalog of signature athletes this past Fall, Booker’s first signature silhouette has appeared in a select number of colorways. Ahead of the Nike Book 1’s inaugural debut this December, the hybrid lifestyle solution added a bespoke monochrome treatment to the growing roster of ensembles – albeit in an unconfirmed capacity.

Draped in a tonal collection of dark grey hues, the upper’s rich textures shine amidst a clad composition. Much like its recently revealed “Cool Grey” effort, a supple textile fills the mid-foot panel and tongue, surrounded by soft nubuck overlays and a nylon sock liner. The persistent grey treatment shifts in tone slightly when attributed to the laces and profile swoosh while the book page-inspired spine is cured in a faint grey accent. What’s more, the tongue tab and insoles echo elements of the Suns uniforms with seldom vibrant orange hits whereas the sole unit is cast in a “Sail” compliment underfoot.

The greyscale Nike Book 1 hasn’t been confirmed as an official colorway just yet, so it’s highly possible that we’re looking at an early sample from the silhouette’s initial colorway stages.  In the meantime, the pair can be seen ahead in first-look imagery as we await further details.
