Tyrese Haliburton’s Nike GT Cut 2 PE Is Inspired By The Indy 500

The state of Indiana is synonymous with two sports, basketball and race car driving. Holding a storied history on the hardwood and at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, star Indiana Pacers point guard and Nike endorsee Tyrese Haliburton recently debuted an all-new Nike GT Cut 2 PE inspired by the 108th running of the Indianapolis 500 next May.

With a color palette derived from the race’s insignia – albeit in a more vibrant vein – the Zoom-assisted silhouette explores a striking red-dominant upper that’s digitized aesthetic allows for a semi-transparent tooling fit with jet-black contrasts. Rendering a white speckled detailing along the pitch-dark midsole, the latter and the tread conjoin for clad-black treatment underfoot juxtaposing the overtly bright crimson tint just above. The two-toned upper is then met by a seldom amount of colorless accents that fill the medial side of the tongue and the profile swoosh before a golden foil finish ascertains the tongue’s GT branding in connection to the historic race trophy.

While we await to see if the pair will eventually receive a broader release in conjunction with the race this coming May, the Nike GT Cut 2 “Indy 500” PE can be seen below in detailed imagery.

For more basketball offerings, the GT Cut 3 was recently unveiled featuring ZoomX cushioning.
