Rui Hachimura Gets His Own Air Jordan 38

Rui Hachimura Gets His Own Air Jordan 38

Each year since the Air Jordan 36, Jordan Brand has provided Rui Hachimura with an exclusive iteration of the Air Jordan game shoe. Extending into the brand’s retro offerings with general releases featuring the Air Jordan 8 and Air Jordan 1 Low in 2022, Jordan Brand remains committed to honoring its broader athlete roster with intricate, personalized designs – the latest of which arrives in Hachimura’s own Air Jordan 38.

Mirroring the Eastern influence of his past two takes on the brand’s flagship basketball model, Rui’s Japanese heritage is ingrained within the heel’s fuzzy embroidery, effortlessly blending his home country’s rich culture with the silhouette’s performance embellishments. Curing the upper exclusively in a light grey hairy suede tooling, the clad greyscale treatment is accentuated by a crimson red accent that lines the quarter overlay. The bright red hue reappears within the medial side of the tongue, opposing the stitched dark grey tongue tabs that feature Rui’s personal logo on the left shoe. Underfoot, a lasting jade contrast harkens to the country’s national stone across the sole unit’s translucent X-Plate and the pair’s specially crafted box.

Release details haven’t been made available quite yet. In the meantime, the Air Jordan 38 “Rui Hachimura” can be seen ahead in detailed imagery.

In other news, the Dunk Low “Cargo Khaki/Mystic Red” releases on December 13th.
