Throughout the past few seasons, the Jumpman banner has put an exuberant amount of effort into revitalizing the colorways of the circa 1986 Air Jordan 2. While the broader ecosystem hasn’t gravitated toward the high and low-top editions as much as other retro counterparts, the Beaverton brand continues to make MJ’s second signature silhouette a point of attack in 2024.
As seen in the first-look imagery shared by @fineline1721, the Jordan 2 is undergoing a reptilian makeover next January. Revolving around a blank white leather upper, the tongue and heel collar’s colorless treatment is met by a jet-black contrast that fills the tongue tab, inner lining and tongue trim before finishing across the serrated heel counter. Complemented by a reserved “University Red” logo at the heel, a “Sail” infusion then cascades across the midsole, laces and eyestays. What’s more, the silhouette’s mainstay mid-foot overlay is cast in a python snakeskin texture that matches the “Mauve” cured tread underfoot.
According to sneaker insiders, the Air Jordan 2 “Python” is expected to launch on January 20th, 2024. In the meantime, the pair can be seen in first-look imagery.
