LeBron James And Nike Revisit The Summit Lake Hornets With The NXXT Gen AMPD

Inspired by the all-time leading scorer's youth rec league team.

LeBron James And Nike Revisit The Summit Lake Hornets With The NXXT Gen AMPD

If you appreciated the color and material of the Nike Air Zoom Generation “Court Purple,” but would prefer a more modern silhouette, then you’re in luck. The upcoming Nike Zoom LeBron NXXT Gen AMPD is set to drop in the “Hornets” colorway sometime in early 2024, a thoughtful nod to one of the King’s earliest phases of organized hooping.

For those who may not know, the “Hornets” color scheme is an homage to James’ youth rec league, the Summit Lake Hornets. Most notably referenced in 2012’s LeBron 9 “Summit Lake Hornets”, this modernized adaptation features a royal purple hue offset by the bright blue, capturing the essence of The King’s rec league team before embarking on what many call the GOAT career.

While a release date has not yet been confirmed, we expect it to carry the same price tag as the “First Game” variant of the updated NXXT Gen AMPD model, which is $170 (those are scheduled to release January 5, 2024).

In other LeBron updates, check out the official images of the denim-covered LeBron 21 “Aragonite”.
