The Nike Dunk Low For Kids Embraces The “Black Toe” Colorway

One detail makes these short of perfect.

The Nike Dunk Low For Kids Embraces The “Black Toe” Colorway

Hardly the first time Nike borrowed an original Air Jordan colorway and applied it to the Dunk, but we admit it’s been a while since we’ve seen the occurrence. This year, Nike’s applying the iconic “Black Toe” color-blocking from 1985 to its cousin, but there’s a shot it may be available for kids only.

Looking back on the history of Dunks with Jordan colorways, we’re reminded of 2006’s intentional “Jordan Pack” collection that dropped exclusively at Journey’s. The True Blue 3s, Chicago 2s, and even the Playoff 8s all made their way onto the Dunk, but it was Supreme that applied elephant print and those ’88 colorways on their SB Dunk collaboration. Fast-forward to 2024, Nike’s keeping that practice alive by decorating the Dunk Low with black toes and lace collars, white toe-boxes and mid-panels and gym red on the heel.

There is, however, one key detail that keeps it from being a true reprisal; the medial Swoosh is painted red for an unexpected and rather unnecessary alternating look.

For $90, you’ll be able to lace these up soon, so stay tuned for updates. In other Dunk news, the Dunk Low “Dolphins” is set to drop shortly.
