The below article was originally published on January 10th, 2024.
Before bursting onto the scene as the “it” performance street shoe in 2023, the Nike Zoom Vomero 5 made a previous attempt to infiltrate the market back in 2019. Instantly embraced by those in the know, the Vomero 5 fell onto deaf ears for the most part as the 2000’s tech runner trend didn’t hit the mainstream until 2022. The good news was that those who were steering the trend got the pick up pairs at a discount. The bad news? Nike shelved the model for good after one season.
Now that the Vomero 5 is on the global radar, Nike has chosen to bring back two of the more recognizable issues from that early summer 2019 run. The “Electric Green” and “Racer Blue” are both expected to be back sometime in 2024 with the same product SKU, so the official Nike images you see below are actually five years old. This is particularly good news if you’ve been trying to lasso a pair today, because pairs are selling above retail.
While not confirmed yet, the third Grey colorway from the same batch could be returning as well.
In other Vomero 5 updates, this “Pure Platinum” colorway returns the model to a “dad-shoe” aesthetic.
