The market for high-end slides has taken off since Kanye West’s adidas Yeezy Slides took to the streets in 2018. Since then, we’ve seen competitors like New Balance, ASICS, and Nike place greater emphasis on their slip-on footwear offerings, supplementing the industry with a variety of unique iterations.

The Nike Uptempo Slides might just be the most distinctive of them all, adopting the beloved upper of the Scottie Pippen-endorsed Air More Uptempo. Just days after a Pink Uptempo Slide surfaced, the Beaverton brand delivers another colorway in UNC-themed Carolina Blue.

Stitched “air” overlays appear in white leather on this pair, bleeding down into the midsole where the five air bubbles become visible on the medial side. The remainder of the upper appears in Carolina Blue leather with perforations and mesh lining for breathability and comfort.
