Like many trending New Balance models, the 860v2 hid in the shadows for years before reintroducing itself through a variety of collaborative efforts, most notably with Aimé Leon Dore as part of an ongoing collection.
While the shoe gives off the same fashion-forward dad shoe vibe seen on counterparts like the 2002R and 1906R, it actually surfaced in 2011 as the second iteration in a new running collection. As the collection grew substantially over time, up to the 860v13 now, the 860v2 was placed on the back burner until being revitalized off the strength of modern-day collabs and trending aesthetics.
Now the Boston brand looks to strike while the iron’s hot, offering up three new 860v2 colorways that fit seamlessly alongside today’s hottest retro-inspired runners. All the shoes feature a grayscale palette, letting reflective overlays and the intricacies of the silhouette take center stage. A splash of color makes its way onto two pairs, appearing in violet on one and arctic gray on the other, while the third pair adopts a different look with all-silver overlays and a white base.
New Balance’s latest 860v2 offerings have already begun making their way to retailers worldwide, but we’ve yet to hear word regarding availability on the New Balance site. In the meantime, enjoy detailed images below and take a look at the upcoming CDG New Balance 860v2 slated for later this year.
