The Air Jordan 5 “Black Cat” Release Is Cancelled

Updated September 11th, 2024: The release of the Air Jordan 5 “Black Cat” has been cancelled.

Updated April 15th, 2024: Initially reported for a Holiday 2024 release, the Air Jordan 5 “Black Cat” has been removed from the release calendar per @zsneakerheadz. We’ll provide the new release date as soon as it emerges.

The Air Jordan 5 “Black Cat” is set to release this Holiday 2024 season, continuing a well-received tradition of all-black Air Jordan releases. While actual imagery of the shoes have yet to surface, @zsneakerheadz shares an early mock-up as well as some official specifications of what will certainly be a popular pick during the final quarter of the year.

The “Black Cat” is one of the most recognizable monotone sneakers of all time, drawing its inspiration from one of the GOAT’s many enduring nicknames. While few and far in-between, the most famous of this variety is the Air Jordan 4 “Black Cat” which last saw store shelves in 2020. The Black Cat Jordan 3 is another select choice of this limited family that first debuted back in 2007; these are also slated for later this year alongside the AJ5 model.

The speculative mock-up shared by @zsneakerheadz reveals what the final release could look like. While an all-suede rendition true to the Black Cat theme would be the most crowd-pleasing, there’s no telling what the actual product will look like given the SE designation.
