Hajime Sorayama Channels The Power Of The Dragon On The PUMA Spirex And Palermo

PUMA has partnered up once again with iconic illustrator Hajime Sorayama for a distinct Year Of The Dragon capsule for Chinese New Year. Presenting two silhouettes of past and present, Sorayama supplies his signature metallic chrome silver appearance on the Palermo and Spirex.

Known for his erotic fembot drawings in that striking silver hue, Sorayama applies that same aesthetic to two of PUMA’s footwear silhouettes at the forefront of the brand’s 2024 plans. The Palermo, with its T-toe cap and classic PUMA track logo, stands out in via a metallic silver UV photochromic upper and a translucent rubber outsole. The futuristic Spirex leverages the use of silver synthetics to create a fierce vibe that mirrors the Japanese artist’s fierce dragon.

Alongside the two footwear drops is a series of apparel heavy on graphics, patches, and patterns — a contrast from the all-silver look and feel of the sneakers.

The entire Sorayama x PUMA “Chinese New Year” collection is scheduled to be available beginning on February 1st at PUMA flagship locations and selected retail partners.
