Nike Brings “Chrome” Back To The Zoom Vomero 5, But For Men

The instant cult-classics begin to eye release in their new wide sizing.

Nike Brings “Chrome” Back To The Zoom Vomero 5, But For Men

The Nike Zoom Vomero 5 have carved out a sizable lane as the Oregon brand’s chief retro runner. Of the general release offerings, the women’s exclusive “Photon Dust” Vomero 5 have a true claim to being the most popular. Now, Nike is listening to public opinion, releasing a men’s version of the highly-demanded sneaker.

While this “Summit White” recreation in question still holds onto the same appeal their WMNS counterparts established, they’re exactly that- a recreation. Save for possibly lightening the metallic accents, there aren’t many major changes to the shoe here. They hold onto the Y2K “Metallic Silver” that takes up the entirety of the upper, across varied pieces of mixed media. The midsole in consistent as well, donning a slightly aged off-white.

That all leaves the true intrigue in the fact that they’re re-releasing in the first place. Having sold out in their original release a year ago, then in a quickly snapped-up restock just a few weeks back, this move is an explicit acknowledgment of the sleeper hit status that the chromed-out Vomero 5 unexpectedly managed to capture.

Now widening the audience, the “Summit White” men’s release is expected to draw a similar level of demand, so you’ll likely have to be on top of things to manage a pair of your own. Neither a release date nor a concrete price have been confirmed, but we will keep this page current as those details begin to materialize.

While you wait, if you’re looking for a pair already available, take a look at the men’s Nike Zoom Vomero 5 “Neutral Olive.”
