A shoe emblematic of Oregon efforts to renew and refresh their mainline models, the Nike Air Max 90 Futura in each new edition often vacillates between reigned in, familiar palettes and more experimental ones. The upcoming “Olive Aura/Oil Green” version of the women’s-only sneaker definitely leans into the familiar, donning the updated sneaker in a earthy, neutral tones.

Dressing the shoe in various complementary shades of green, the army-adjacent outfitting speaks to the continued trendiness of these sorts of natural looks. While there’s certainly space in the Nike calendar for vibrant, statement pieces, this pair of AM90 Futuras take a more conservative direction. It’s a shoe intended for everyday wear, fit for you to reach for as a complement rather than a centerpiece. Sewn in lace tabs that alternate up the center of the shoe add to the nonlinear design of the shoe, helping these stand out from mainline 90 releases.

Speaking more broadly, this release slides into a recent line of GR shoes where these two trademark shades have taken center stage. Towards the top of last year, “Oil Green” Air Jordan 4s used it as accenting while a few weeks ago “Olive Aura” Nike Dunk Lows used it to don the entire shoe.

All that said, the “Olive Aura/Oil Green” Air Max 90 Futura stands as another accessible release added to Spring 2024 for Nike. You’ll likely see these landing at retailers and on their website in the coming weeks, carrying a retail price of $140.

In other release news, corduroy and a gradient swoosh add character to a GS Nike Air Force 1.
