Bill Bowerman’s Nike Cortez has reclaimed its spot among the Beaverton brand’s most popular retro lifestyle offerings, hitting shelves with more frequency and in a wide variety of color treatments after adopting a more consistent release schedule in 2018. Just as fans of the silhouette gear up for the return of the Forrest Gump colorway scheduled for later this year, Nike delivers another familiar essential by way of a clean black and white pair.
No stranger to a wide variety of material treatments, the Cortez opts for nylon on the base layer of this installment. Black suede paneling wraps the toe, heel, and eyelets, making way for a contrasting white Nike Swoosh and heel branding. More traditional treatments appear underfoot, the design calling in a black/white sole unit complete with the silhouette’s unmistakable herringbone pattern down below.
