Reebok has delved deep into its 90s-era archive in recent months, reintroducing silhouettes like the Preseason 94, Court Victory, and various Above The Rim models in both new and OG styles. Now adding to the brand’s slate of retro offerings is a new Reebok ATR Mid colorway, complete with a look reminiscent of streetwear trends that coincided with the model’s debut thirty years ago.
Despite the lack of air pumps on mid-cut ATRs, a favored element among Reebok shoes of this genre, the silhouette holds its own through unmistakable 90s-bred design cues. Also not an original colorway featured in Spike Lee’s “Above The Rim” 1994 flick, this installment leans on thoughtful detailing to appease the tastes of sneaker purists.
Purple and teal treatments appear at the top of the shoe, trading places on the sock lining, heel, and Reebok logo to complete an “aqua” palette. The tongue communicates the shoe’s “Above The Rim” origins with orange and purple branding over a checkerboard background, while a gum sole introduces a fresh new element to the silhouette underfoot. Familiar white leather overlays define the rest of the shoe, positioned in traditional abstract fashion against a black base layer.
European shops have already begun loading the upcoming Reebok ATR Mid onto their websites, but no word has been mentioned regarding a global Reebok.com release. In the meantime, enjoy detailed images below and return to our Sneaker Release Dates page for more.
