Perfect timing? With Max Strus delivering an instant classic moment last night via a well behind half-court game winner, everything seems to be turning up Cleveland Cavaliers. Following their recent on-court success, the team is getting a retail boost to match. The adidas D.O.N. Issue #5, the long-tenured member of the Three Stripes 23-24 basketball slate, is getting its first Ohio-themed outfitting in an official “Cavs” colorway.
As a recap, several Cavaliers-esque palettes already made their way to the D.O.N. Issue #5 back when it was first unveiled, with Mitchell himself photographed in promo photos wearing a vibrant blue & orange pair that harkened to 90s Cavs uniforms. Similarly, pairs in black & blue or black & orange either released at launch or have appeared over the past few months.
Here, the utilization of “The Land’s” trademark colors is both more modern and more low-key, swapping in orange for “Wine Red,” and blue for jet black. A keen eye reveals the final piece of the puzzle on the anterior side, where the gold that outlines the C in the Cavs’ logo hits a slew of branding, from the three stripes to Mitchell’s own logo to spell-out identification of the shoe.
Retailing for $120, the adidas D.O.N. Issue #5 “Cavs” drops March 1st at 3AM EST via adidas.com. Scroll down for a full look at the upcoming pair.
In other news for the Three Stripes, adidas teased the upcoming release of their Bob Marley adidas SL72.
