Throwback Details Dot The Reebok ATR Pump Vertical “Core Black/Bold Purple”

Teal, orange and purple combine for a campy look back at the end of last century.

Throwback Details Dot The Reebok ATR Pump Vertical “Core Black/Bold Purple”

From the Question to the Preseason 94, the early 2024 brand strategy for Reebok has been centered around retro releases. Just a week or two back, that strategy continued with a backwards-facing enhacement of the Reebok ATR Mid, its model name and new look of course a reference to the 90s Tupac silver screen classic. Continuing along those same lines, the OG silhouette from the film is getting a new colorway in kind with the Reebok ATR Pump Vertical “Core Black / Bold Purple.”

Though not an exact replica of the black and white pair that Marlon Wayans made famous in Above the Rim, this pair in “Core Black / Bold Purple” still serves up plenty of 90s imagery. The combination of that purple shade and the several hits of teal on the shoes, it’s a dead ringer for the kitschy neon of the era, though “Jazz” Solo cups might be the most easily recognizable application.

It’s a palette choice complimented well by the gum sole, another calling card of the decade, and the Orange look that the Pump unit sports on the tongue, a callback to its OG configuration circa Dominique Wilkins’ commercials. Speaking of, a “You Got The Love?” graphic on the insole harkens to paid spots promoting the Pump in 1992, one additional piece of imagery on the 90s-heavy kicks.

Retailing for $160, the Reebok ATR Pump Vertical “Core Black / Bold Purple” will release via Reebok.com on March 8th at midnight EST. Enjoy a full gallery of official images below.
