The Newest ASICS GEL-Lyte III Recaptures The Contrast Toe

Though other models like the ASICS GEL-NYC or GEL-Kayano have surpassed it as the collab model de
jour
for the Japanese brand, it’s hard to argue with the sustained success of the ASICS GEL-Lyte III. Never too far out of the spotlight given the unwavering dedication of Ronnie Fieg, the sneakers still clearly hold onto a market share. Their latest colorway, a mix of “Wood Crepe” and “Burnt Red” taps into their heyday for a fresh updated look.

Though most famously associated with the aforementioned Ronnie Fieg’s Salmon Toes, contrast toebox colorblocking has been a constant staple of the Gel Lyte series for as long as they’ve been relevant. Given that, it’s no surprise that the layout again is successful here, tapping into complementary warm tones of “Burnt Red” and “Wood Crepe.”

On top of an enticing colorway, the ASICS GEL-Lyte III in question showcase a material remaster employed to reintroduce the model a little while back. Though still constructed of familiar leather and suede, they’re given an upgrade in the margins- the upper going to a tumbled leather, the arch branding getting a shaggy suede, and the split tongue opting for a slightly reflective mesh.

The ASICS GEL-Lyte III is available now via ASICS.com, the link to which you can find just below. In stock in a full men’s size run, they command a $140 retail price.

In other runner news, the Kith New Balance 1906R collection eyes release this weekend.
