Matt Varga With collaborations over the past few months like the Naruto Crocs linkup or the One Piece Puma shoes collection, audiences are certainly at a fever pitch for anime footwear. Next up in the category, Reebok is joining forces with the creative team behind “Hunter x Hunter” for an extensive collab, bringing five of their silhouettes into the mix alongside a slew of apparel offerings.
Working in order, each of the sneakers in this collection tackles a different slice of the anime’s universe, with a vast majority focusing in on one character. The Reebok Instapump Fury takes its cues from Hisoka, bringing his pastel aura and plenty of his trademark imagery (playing cards, Bungee Gum and his teardrop tattoo) front and center. Conversely, Gon is the inspiration for the Reebok LX2200 which is draped in his iconic uniform, while Killua and Netero influence the Reebok Club C and Reebok Beatnik, respectively.
The latter, a genuine sandal, stands out the most from the pack simply in form, a moc still just as fit with the anime imagery as the rest. Finally, the Reebok Nano X3 Adventure is intended as a uniform piece for attendees of the Hunter Association. Wearing its logo on the tongue, the shoes carry the white and black color palette of the Association onto the function-minded cross-training model.
All the shoes in the Reebok x Hunter x Hunter collaboration will be available March 22nd on Reebok.com, with MSRP ranging from $110 to $200. As mentioned earlier, co-branded hoodies and graphic T-shirts will also be available at the same time.
In other collaboration news, the Nike Air Max 95 “Atlanta” emerged in mysterious fashion, hinting a possible big name linkup.
