Jordan Brand Celebrates Japan’s Cherry Blossom Season With The Air Jordan 2 Low

Models like the Air Jordan 4 and Air Jordan 3 continue to highlight Jordan Brand’s release calendar, but the Air Jordan 2 Low appears ready to spice up the Jumpman’s variety in 2024. Its sharp overlays appear prominently on the upper of the new Jordan 2/3, also making an appearance in the brand’s annual Chinese New Year collection. Now with eyes towards spring, the often neglected middle child between Jordan’s first and third signature shoes continues its run in a clean “Cherry Blossom” colorway.

This design nods to the arrival of spring and specifically Japan’s annual Cherry Blossom Festival, a reference point utilized by all the biggest sneaker brands across a myriad of unique designs throughout the years. While some “Cherry Blossom” looks opt for meticulous patterns and detailing, this rendition takes a more subtle route with pink gradient treatments on the heel and outsole.

Both elements transition from hot pink to a lighter hue, reflecting the bloom of cherry blossoms as the weather turns warmer. The design theme continues on the tongue with green Jordan Wings branding on the left shoe, while the right boasts a special Jumpman stamp complete with Japanese text and a floral background. Grey leather encompasses the rest of the build in order to keep things simple, allowing the shoe’s tasteful details to shine through.

Pairs are currently set to drop through SNKRS Japan on March 21st, but no word has been mentioned regarding a wider global release at the time of this writing. Given the shoe’s strong Japanese associations it could very well be an overseas exclusive, but time will tell.
